GENERAL RENTAL NOTES: Rates are based on a single family unit of 6 or less. A family unit is generally defined as the parent(s) and their children under the age of majority (18) (i.e. 2 Generations); however, the possible addition of grandparents (or similar relatives) may be allowed (i.e. 3 Generations). Although the cottage can sleep up to 9, there may be a $25/Night charge for any more than the 6 person limit (usually only when more than 2 are adults). Guests are allowed to have visitors during their rental period within reason (i.e. a reasonable number of visitors at a time during the day, no visitors staying past 1:00 AM).
2026 Spring Daily Rates (May 7 to June 18): $135/Night, Based on 2 Nights Minimum Stay: Add $50 For 1 Night Only.
2026 Spring Holiday Date Rates: Add $25 for Night of May 17, 3 Nights Minimum: Add $50 For 2 Nights Only, No 1 Night Option During Spring Long Weekends.
2026 Summer Daily Rates (June 19 to Sept 3): $165/Night, Based On 4 Nights Minimum: Add $50 For 3 Nights Only or $100 For 2 Nights Only, No 1 Night Option During Summer Months.
2026 Summer Holiday Date Rates: Add $50 for Nights of June 30 and August 2, 4 Nights Minimum: Add $50 For 3 Nights Only or $100 For 2 Nights Only, No 1 Night Option During Summer Months.

2026 Check-In Time: Anytime after 4:00 PM. (Lockbox with keys available. Code will be sent to you before your arrival date.)
2026 Check-Out Time: By 2:00 PM. (Gives us enough time to maintain the cottage and property before the next guest arrives.)
Note: On your day of departure it may be possible to leave your refrigerated goods in our care while you visit the beach for the rest of the day. Please ask if interested in this option.
RESERVATIONS: Reservations are required at least 3 days before arrival for all dates. Length of stay minimums vary throughout the seasons – Spring/Fall: 2 Nights Minimum. Summer: 4 Nights Minimum. September Long Weekend: 3 Nights Minimum. Days lost through late arrival or early departure will be charged in full based on the cancellation policy (see below).

A $200.00 Cleaning + Damage Retainer (CDR) is required on all direct booked rentals and will be returned after satisfactory inspection of cottage. (The cottage is clean when you arrive, so please clean the cottage before you leave to have it look similar to when you arrived or risk losing some or all of your deposit.)
Note: We wash the sheets and towels between renters, you are NOT responsible for cleaning sheets and towels!
A minimum 50% of the total rental agreement is required when booking, and any balance of the total rental agreement + $200.00 CDR is due before arrival. Rental & CDR payments can be mailed in by cheque (if by cheque, a minimum 10 days before arrival) or paid online through e-transfer/Interac sent to CottageRentals@GrandMaraisCottage.ca a minimum of 2 days (48 hours) before arrival.
CANCELLATION POLICY: Reservations are non transferable. ID may be requested upon arrival. Rates charged for cancellations given in writing are as follows:

More than 29 days prior to confirmed arrival date – No Charge – Full Refunded (length of stay doesn’t matter).
28 to 22 days prior to confirmed arrival date – Pay 10% of first 28 nights*, nothing for additional nights.
21 to 15 days prior to confirmed arrival date – Pay 20% of first 7 nights*, 10% of next 21 nights*, nothing for additional nights.
14 to 8 days prior to confirmed arrival date – Pay 40% of first 7 nights*, 20% of next 7 nights*, 10% of next 14 nights*, nothing for additional nights.
7 to 3 days prior to confirmed arrival date – Pay 60% of first 7 nights*, 40% of next 7 nights*, 20% of next 7 nights*, 10% of next 7 nights*, nothing for additional nights.
Less than 3 days prior to confirmed arrival date – Pay 80% of first 7 nights*, 60% of next 7 nights*, 40% of next 7 nights*, 20% of next 7 nights*, nothing for additional nights.
